Release | Canadians’ Bill Gourgon Receives Arthur K Nielsen Award

Ottawa, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League is pleased to announce that Carleton Place Canadians forward Bill Gourgon has been named the recipient of the Arthur K Nielsen Award (Academic Player of the Year) for the 2023/24 season.

The 2003 born Carp, ON native is in his third season in the CCHL. While attending the Algonquin College he has accumulated grades in the following full time classes; Business Law- Discussion #1-9/10, Discussion #2 8/10, Business Math- Quiz #1-4/5, Test #1-13.5/15, Quiz #2-5/5, Test #2 14.25/15, Business Fundamentals-Assignment #1-13/15, Assignment #2-16/20. While on the ice earning 58 points in 50 games. He will be continuing his athletic and academic career at St. Francis University for the 2024/25 season.
